Nursery Reveal!

Many people have been asking to see pictures of our little guy's nursery, so here goes...

I scoured Pinterest for months days trying to find inspiration for the nursery, but I never seemed to find anything that really stuck out to me. Then, I stumbled across the rug. I knew I wanted to bring out a bunch of fun/bright colors, and this was the perfect piece to do it. Plus... it just made me smile :D

The next order of business was picking out the crib, changing table/dresser and picking the paint color for the walls.

So long flowers!!

After 5+ samples of gray paint, we finally made a decision

I found the exact dresser I was envisioning on Craigslist. With a little paint job, it would be perfect for the changing table! I forgot to take a good "before" picture, but here are the "during" and "after" pictures...

I couldn't have done the nursery without the help of my amazing husband and parents who spent almost a week installing a ceiling fan, closet doors and recessed lighting... let's be honest, the boys did the manual labor while my mom and I went shopping for final decorating touches for the room :)

Here are pictures of the final project. It is now officially ready for his arrival!

Robot Baby Shower!

Back in January, my sister-in-laws threw me the cutest shower.

Here are a few pictures from the day...

My mother-in-law is known for making amazing cakes, but this time she totally outdid herself. She made a robot cake for the big event.

I mean seriously... how CUTE is this cake??!

My sister-in-law Heather, who also hosted our Gender Reveal Party, was gracious enough to host another event for us. I owe her big time!!

It was so much fun to have my friends and family there to celebrate our little guy.

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

This past weekend, we went with our good friends Kara and Cory to the mountains to cut down our Christmas Tree. We went with them a couple years ago and hope to make this an annual tradition.

We got all bundled up for the 5 degree weather and headed to Woodland Park.

The boys were determined to find the perfect area to cut down our tree, which to them, meant going to the highest point of the mountain. With only a few minor scares of almost sliding off the road, we found THE spot!

This is the second year that Kara helped us find our tree. Thanks Kara!!

Here is our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree... just the way we like it :)

30 Weeks

It is SO hard to believe that I only have 10 weeks to go. This baby is going to be here before I know it!!

30 Weeks: Baby Gries is the size of a cucumber!

We (meaning Jeff) have been hard at work on the nursery. Here are a few teaser pics of the progress so far:

First order of business... the flowers had to go!

The dresser/changing table mid redo

I want to give a big shout out to my sister who helped me envision the layout of the room.

We still have a lot of work to do, but I'll post pictures when everything is finished. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
